We agree that slavery in the United States was a horrific injustice that has had lasting ramifications and is a dark stain on our history. Since Republicans are in the minority as a result of the 2018 election, we have no say so about what bills are brought to the floor for a vote, including legislation pertaining to reparations. Therefore, if a bill does come to the floor, the decision will be one totally made by Speaker Pelosi and her lieutenants.
